Band of the Week - Call Me Anything

Call Me Anything is our Band of the Week! They were so kind as to send over the following bio and links. Make sure you catch the guys on tour with Follow Your Hero starting July 5th. For a full list of dates keep an eye on their Facebook page.

“After lead singer/pianist, Will Tenney’s, former band, White Rose, got signed to New Age Media Management, the team decided some changes were in order. After a slight line-up change, and a month’s worth of meetings, Call Me Anything was born in January of 2011.

Based out of Boston, Mcnulty, Dougan, and Tenney of CMA do what other bands only claim to do: bring something different to the current Pop/Rock scene. “We’re not trying to be another throwaway pop band, and I think that’s why kids like our music” says Tenney. “We’re definitely taking a more honest approach than a lot of bands” Mcnulty added. With a sound reminiscent of Something Corporate and The Starting Line, these guys are clearly poised for success.

And their tactics haven’t gone unnoticed. The band’s first venture was a five day stint with For The Foxes (Hopeless Records), followed by a 10-day east coast tour during which the band played with Stereo Skyline (Columbia Records), Sparks The Rescue (Fearless Records), and School Boy Humor (Vagrant Records), just to name a few.

While Brandyn Dougan, the youngest of their clan, was finishing up his senior year of highschool, Mcnulty and Tenney were loading out of the NU campus, and making summer plans. In early May, they opened up the large room at Boston’s very own Middle East Club with fellow touring acts Valencia (I-Surrender Records) and Cash Cash (Universal Records), and then headed to Freehold, NJ to play a date on Rocky Loves Emily’s (Tooth & Nail Records) latest tour.

“We get asked about our dream show a lot” Dougan says, “but it’s almost self explanatory. We’d obviously love to play with legends like Blink 182 or Jack’s Mannequin, but I think our best shows are just when all of our die hard fans are there rockin’ out. That’s really what it’s all about.”

In just six months, this well put together group of gentleman have managed to attract just under 2,600 people to their facebook page, head out on two east coast tours, and release their debut single, “Let’s Talk,” worldwide. Later this June they’ll be heading back to the Middle East to play a show with Bryan Donnahue and John Keefe of Boys Like Girls, and then leavin four a nationwide tour shortly afterwards.”
